Simple Celebration of New Years eve

Since the people here were not in the spirit of celebrating the coming of 2009,I and Kat spend the whole night waited for the countdown, greeted each other happy new year, she hugged me and it was enough for me to forget all the drama that surround us that day. I just prepared a little bit,I made Sio Pao Guisado, some eggrolls, fettucine from our lunch, macaroni chicken salad and we had some Pepsi cake from a good friend of ours Ms. Judy G. Kat and I enjoyed our food and we were laughing for she said we have to be happy coz it is 2009.I agree with her....I drank a glass of baileys irish cream and a bottle of beer called Dundee,it is with honey.I made some churros too before we called it a night. We went to bed stuffed and I went to bed around 5 am,to sum it up,it was a good celebration for me with Kat and the dogs=)

Welcoming 2009 with ............

Hello everyone, one more day to go and 2008 is just history, how swift time flies and we are goin to welcome 2009,I hope that the coming year is much better than 2008.I wish that somehow our economic problem will have a good outcome and the new administration will be succesful to fulfill the promises they made during the campaign. All I wish for the coming year is good health for everyone,a courage to face whatever hindrances will come on our way and positive outlook in life in general. We all know that there is always a silver lining after every storm that we encounter.

An Early Christmas gifts (again).

I bet you are familiar with the jingle "Every kiss begins with K",but before you roll your eyes,I didn't get a kiss okey?but I got the K...stands for Kay.I am not into jewelries,I am fine with sterling silver or a 14k gold from walmart,I usually wear my ring and hoops and thats it. Last year,I got a purse and a sunglasses. When someone asked me what I wanted to have this year as a gift,my answer was simple,I want a pair of Havaiianas, since mine is old and been used many times.I thought that is what I am going to get but nah, much better than Havaiianas though. I got a necklace with my birthstone on it and a little piece of "diamonds"I am not sure if it real diamonds but let me call it that way=).The second one is a white gold bracelet with a murano stone hanging with it.I love it alot, but I am not sure if I am goin to use it,maybe it will stay in my jewelry box with the other stuff that I got. Thank you so much Santa, you never fail to put a smile on my face..Merry christmas everyone, hope yours will be good or better than before.Tata for now...

Only in the Philippines(Our Christmas Lantern)

It is only in the Philippines, that is a very common phrase we heard especially if we are outside in our native land.I thought before that phrase is a word to mock us Filipinos but just recently I figured it out it is really true. There are some things that can only be found in our country the Philippines. Today I put up our "parol" or christmas lantern that came from the Philippines and I am very proud to say that we are the only one that have that kind of decoration here in our place.Mom brought it last 2006 and only now I was able to put it.It really looks nice and our neighbor asked me where I bought it,and my reply was "you can only get it in the Philippines, and I repeated,yes..Only in the Philippines". Everytime it catches my attention,I can't help but smile and it bring back alot of good memories I had during Christmas Season when I was still in my hometown. One more thing,I believe that "only in the Philippines",I experienced how joyful the christmas season inspite of hardship in life.We didn't have much food but we have something in the table, not much gifts to received but so many friends that make us happy and that is enough reason for me to feel complete during Christmas Day...

Better late than NEVER

Every year we have our christmas tree put up prior to thanksgiving day,but lately it was totally different, nobody thought of putting it up and even put a christmas decorations at all.I wonder when we gonna have our tree?Usually we have a fresh christmas tree but not this time,Aunt asked me to go to walmart and find a tree for us,I didn't ask why we are goin to have a plastic tree this year cause I understand, fresh christmaS tree is expensive plus lots of work by just putting it up and at the end of the season,it goes in the trash.I know financially we can't afford to throw it so it was a perfect idea just to have a plastic christmas tree and we can use it in the coming years. We still have our christmas tree decorations from previous years so I didn't get a new one, some christmas lights work perfectly so i crossed it out in the list as well.I didn't only get one tree but I got two,the other one is big and the one is small to put together with our santa and snowman.Kat and I put up the tree and decorated it as well.I guess we made a terrific job.Christmas tree topper is still missing though,it was in the office so I will put it up on Monday. We are not done yet,I still have to put the reindeer outside and the wreath but due to cold weather and slight snow I wasn't able to put it last Sunday, but hopefully this week-end I will finish everything with Kat helps of course.
